BRING ON THE WHITE SPACES – 17 July 2017

Expect letters to the FCC from House lawmakers and governors boosting Microsoft’s TV white spaces rural broadband plan, according to the office of Rep. Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.). “Opening up one more channel of spectrum for unlicensed use will allow the TV White Space industry to take shape,” said Cramer, who along with Reps. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.), Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) and Austin Scott (R-Ga.) is seeking co-signers for a letter of support, as North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum is doing among governors. The ask to the FCC: allow three 6 MHz TV white space channels in every media market.
