Geoffrey Starks: “no digital divides or broadband deserts”

Broadband Champion? — The 38-year-old Democratic nominee to fill Mignon Clyburn’s seat on the FCC named expanding access to internet connectivity as the agency’s top challenge, putting him right in line with a core priority of FCC Chairman Ajit Pai. “There should be no digital divides or broadband deserts,” Starks wrote in written answers to the Senate Commerce Committee, where he’ll testify Wednesday at his confirmation hearing. Other challenges identified by Starks: Protecting the public interest and using technology to better serve consumers.
